Once again thank you all for your posts! I know that they bring encouragement to myself and others. It is amazing how Christ reveals truths to us in similar but also different ways! Thanks for being so faithful!
Solitude: I really was challenged by Kristen Anema's excerpt from the devotional. I think solitude has been difficult for me; the business of life gets in the way. I loved Kristen's perspective and the truth see states, "if I do not spend time alone listening to God, I will not deal with the sins in my life". I know I need to sit, slow down and listen to God. In those times I am reminded of His truth, the reality of the cross, and the sins that easily entangle me. Solitude is important in drawing us back to Christ. I need prayer in this! I need to pursue solitude, even when surrounded by the business, distractions, and chaotic happenings in life.
Service: I loved the point about choosing to serve verses being a servant. And how honest servanthood develops out of serving when we don't want to or serving tough people we don't want to vulnerably serve. Christ was a servant not just to his disciples or people he was close to, but also to those who spat on him, flogged him, cruelly doubted Him and drew the nails into His cross. He was a servant at all times, he lived a lifestyle of service and that is not easy. So now I ask myself, will I live a lifestyle of service or choose to serve whenever I choose? I know I'm called to be like Christ, so I must pick the former. i know it's not easy and Christ did not say it was
easy, but he did say He would be with us!
Love ya guys!
"He did say He would be with us!" - Phew. Taking heart in that today. Thanks Stef!
