I can totally relate to what Stef wrote in the devo book about struggling with the discipline of study. In school I am studying medicine and nursing all the time. It is very rigorous and, yes, helpful for my career someday. But I am reminded that this kind of studying does not satisfy my heart and soul.
Studying God’s word is the only type of studying that can really and truly renew my mind. Studying His word also is the best and most important type of studying I can do. I know the promise of fulfillment (Psalm 62:1-2) that results from this, and yet I seem to struggle with actually doing it regularly, especially when school is in session.
God, I pray for a desire to study your word and a deep, transforming level. So many other things are grabbing my attention, when my whole attention should be solely focused on you. Please renew my mind and draw me close as I study your promises and Holy Word.
