Holy Week

Hey guys! This week has been crazy for me. I've just been throwing myself into experiencing and trying to understand holy week this year. Usually I just rush past holy week or don't even think about it because I can't fully understand it and it hurts to think that my sins put Jesus on that cross. But this year I have realized that that is part of the beauty of it. These two parts in the devotion really helped me understand that. "All the poison of sin was going to have to go into his own heart. God was going to pour into Jesus' heart all the sadness and brokenness in people's hearts. He was going to pour into Jesus' body all the sickness in people's bodies. God was going to have to blame his son for everything that had gone wrong [...] But Jesus stayed. It wasn't the nails that kept Jesus there. It was love." This just absolutely amazes me. Jesus boar the sins of every person in the world, those already committed and those not yet committed, out of pure love for us. He rescued us through his own sacrifice. He took our place on that cross. If that is not an amazing example of his love for us then I don't know what is!

  1. Great post haley! I loved particularily too the part where God must turn His back on Jesus. This really slapped me in the face! The relationship between Jesus and His Father really stood out to me for the first time this Easter. Glad you saw it too!

  2. ^ i agree with kevin!!

i heard somewhere that God saved us from Himself (the wrath of God) - He was going to pour out all his wrath on us, but he put it on His own Son instead; so crazy
