HEY GUYS!!
This wee has been awesome for me!! =D I'm gunna share what God's been doin and then talk about my holy week devo. time.
So! I've been waking up before school and doing a devotional. It has been straight up amazing! The difference is incredible. Those of you who don't do that... you know what I think =) . =P
Sometimes I'll be sittin' in bible study and having a dilemna inside me because I feel i've forgotten or don't feel that God is teaching me specific things recently. I talked to my great friend Amanda Potts about this, as I usually come to her with this sort of stuff, we had a talk about how God wants us. He wants to be personal and intimate. I found that I wanted to be writing what God was teaching me down into a journal when really I should be focusing on that moment with God. I found myself putting my identity partly in the topics and lessons. Although this is better than other things, God still wants all of me and I wish nothing more than to work towards that every single moment. ALL FOR HIM =D
Slave King- When reading this section I was thinking and wondering how much Jesus actually shared to His disciples about His death. I wonder they must have thought He was speaking in parables, figuratively.
OOO! This makes me think that we must be open to what Jesus is telling US or we might just miss out on that great opportunity to grow in Him. Always be seeking and asking Him in prayer to strenthen and guide
I love how it said "They had planned it long ago." Like God and Jesus sat down and thought up a plan. so great! Jesus prays, "I trust you Papa, whatever you say I will do." - I want this to be my prayer! =D
I love Jesus' perfection in that He says "God forgive them." In the midst of all of His pain, rejection, and suffering Jesus found it necessary to ask for the forgiveness of the ones wronging Him.
I found a really cool song line in the devotional "Tears rolled down Jesus' face. The face of the One who would wipe away every tear from every eye."- thought if I write a worship song soon then I could put this in there =)
In the past I have overlooked the fact that "the earth shook... NO I think that it was a crazy huge earthquake, blundering of lightnings, and waves of groans from the earth. Also that there was no sun. Going against the laws of "the day" or science. God's power is beyond any and beyond that.
I've been learning a lot about NOT HAVING ANY EXPECTATIONS as they lead to, as Amanda says, anger and frustration. This was paralelled to when the disciples, on Saturday, were terribly distrought and saddened that their Lord had not turned out how THEY THOUGHT He would. Then Jesus comes back to life and blows all their EXPECTATIONS out of the water by unbelievably exceeding them. Although I do "believe" it ;D
When Mary sees Jesus at the tomb she is filled with Joy and wants to grip His feet. Jesus then tells her what it is she needs to do: she must go and tell the others what she has seen. I think that this matches up with us exactly! The way she immediately goes out and tells the others about Jesus' return. She finds joy not just in being at Jesus' feet but sharing Him with others. That they may be at His feet as well.
Jesus is with us in the Holy Spirit! =D
DEATH IS DEAD!!!
Love you guys,
-Kev
may God bless all of your weeks!
