brian - week five - submission

wow, 125 posts in 5 weeks! that's like 25 posts per week, awesome!!

that's so cool how some of you went on a mission trip in arizona! i hope you guys had a great time serving, since God loves cheerful givers! (2 corinthians 9:7 - "each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.")

we had a worship night this past week at my college Bible study, and i couldn't help but look around, smile, and be thankful (i know, super cheesy, but it's true)

God has given me so much, placed so many wonderful people in my life, it's really amazing looking back at this journey God has put me on (i'm sure we can all look back at our lives this way!)

and it's only just beginning! God keeps giving us energy to wake up each day, so we can serve Him and glorify Him through everything we do!

even if everything we do is school work, God calls us to work hard and remember to give Him all the glory (not us!)

anyway, this week's devotional helps me remember the sonshine quote, "the greatest leaders are the greatest followers" - Jesus Himself was the perfect servant to God the Father

throughout all our busy days, we can have hope that we will spend ETERNITY with our holy and sovereign GOD! eternity is a long time

when we submit our lives to God, we can shine His light to others and pour out the fruit of His wonderful Holy Spirit - some people's hearts are so hardened, all we can do is pray for them!

God has perfect timing - everything will work out, we'll go to all the colleges we were meant to go to, we'll meet all the people we're meant to meet, and we'll get all the jobs that we were meant to get; all problems will be solved in the end!

i love the 13 confessions at the end of this devotional - i think i really need to work on #4 invisibility....i feel like i'm always working behind the scenes, so i tend to want to be the center of attention sometimes (like even in these posts)........but i have to remember to promote Christ and not myself

man i really thought i was gonna write a short post today..oh well

and sorry i haven't really been commenting on your posts like i used to, i'm sure i'll have more time to comment on posts after school ends on may 5 - i have been reading your posts, though! or maybe skimming..getting the main points.....

not that i'm asking you to comment on this or anything - it just seems more interactive when people are commenting on each others' posts; i know, sometimes there's just nothing to comment about..

on another note, i also really like the prayer at the end of this devotional, before the end notes; the end notes are really good too, especially #8 which is probably the longest endnote i've ever seen (i guess it only looks intimidating - it's pretty much the entire chapter of matthew 5: beatitudes, salt/light, love your enemies, all good stuff!)

let us not be prideful but serve God with open and humble hearts!
