brian - week eight - celebration

we celebrate because..

- God loves us and gives us countless blessings!

- we get to spend eternity up in heaven partying with Him!

- our moms are awesome! (happy mother's day!)

footnote #10 shows 2 of my most favorite verses,

2 Corinthians 5:14-18 - "For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.  So from now one we regard no one from a worldly point of view.  Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!  All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."

Galatians 2:20 - "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

God sent down His Son to die for us so our sins can be forgiven, AND so we can experience a relationship with Him! That itself is enough to celebrate, but God also gives us the fruit of His Holy Spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as well as community, family, encouragement, and so much grace - there really is a lot to celebrate about!

let's spread that love and joy to others who don't know Him, so they can celebrate too!
