Service

When reading this week's devotion I thought back to training weekend when something Steve said really stuck with me, I just remember how he was saying that it doesn't matter how low we go to serve, Jesus went lower. How humbling is that! The son of God came to earth to do the lowest of low so that way I could have the chance to have a relationship with God some day. "Jesus answered, Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." It is just so awesome to know that our God loves us so much that he would send his own son to do that for us.

The other part of this devotion that stuck out to me was the explanation of the difference between choosing to serve and choosing to be a servant. When I think back to all the times I've served in different areas, I can honestly say sometimes I was choosing to serve. This really was a good point for me to see because now it will really help me kind of put myself in check with where my hearts at this summer, and any other times I'm serving.
