First of all, can you all believe Memorial Day is only a week away?! Crazy! Can't wait to fellowship with you all and reconnect before summer!
If we examine the falls of both angels and men, we shall see that what lay at the root of them was a forgetfulness that they were creatures, or a perverse determination to be something more.
When I examine the root of my own failings and short-comings, that's definitely what I find too! This reading really drove home for me the truth that I am created being, and I am not my own.
Every step which a creature takes, when he has been created, increases his dependence on the Creator.
Abba, would each step I take, each moment of every day, serve only to deepen my dependence on You. So often, I do life in the opposite way. I feel like with each step I should gain more strength, more independence - but that's not how the kingdom works! With each moment, decrease my dependence on myself and increase my dependence on you - I need a reality check.
