Guidance

Hi, Everyone,

I think it's interesting that this devotion is titled "Guidance" when the topic really seems more like submission. That's a hard topic, because it always seems so phony;  it seems like false humility. Near the end, the devotional says "to be a creature...involves, without reference to any additional mercies, the precise obligation of loving our Creator supremely as our sole end, and of serving Him from the motive of love." Genuine love is something that I don't suppose you can just manufacture within yourself, and when people talk about loving God, I'm never sure if they really mean it, and if so, how that feels. Is love for God an emotion or an act of the will? If it's an emotion, is it an extremely strong one? This topic certainly bears further consideration; right now I'm off to look at the solar eclipse through welding glasses :-)
