Submission- Evan Hillis

Anyone else find the opening line funny? "Bleeding isn't just a discipline, it's a Death style. Whoops. It's a LIFESTYLE! YES!! LIFESTYLE!!!!!!"

Anyway, as I was reading this, I was thinking about just how much we have to submit to become true servants of the Lord and of others. We must truly go all the way to serve others, a call that means a lot. It means putting others before you, always. It means taking time out from your life and devoting it to God, always. To truly become servants we must submit, and to fully submit, we must give everything.

Another thing that popped out at me was the list of things that followed "To live is Christ and to die is..."
Reading some of those things, a wordly person might think it crazy. Why would you want to be all those things? Why would you want to surrender your rights, have people walk over you, be taken advantage of, be vulnerable? Why would you want that?

Well, because Christ is worth it. He came, He saw, He conquered. It's a simple economics problem: do the costs exceed the benefits? Is your life and love on Earth totally worth the never ending, unconditional, awesome love with Jesus and an eternity spent in with Him?

I think so.
