Hey Everyone!
Sorry I'm a wee bit behind, our youth group spring break mission trip made internet access impossible and therefore I'm a few days late on my Study update. Because my blog update ran into this week's schedule I decided it might make more sense to do the two weeks together.
Study:
I especially liked the excerpt from Stef's blog "You see I study the field of medicine and nursing all the time. Which is great for a test, a career, or even a patient. However it does not feed my soul. It is studying Jesus, his life, his word, and the promises written in scripture that feeds and transforms my soul....Studying other things often gets in the way and unfortunately it is the study of scripture that I need to restore my soul and mind." So many times my schoolwork or worldly responsibilities have taken precedence over my studies of scripture. Often times once I finished my "required" work all I wanted to do was relax and refresh myself. Little did I know that all of the refreshing I needed was right there in the studies I had neglected.
Submission:
Being the control freak that I am I had difficulty accepting a word like submissison: the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person. I enjoy knowing exactly the process things should take or the way that everyone should behave. When I read that being submissive doesn't mean losing ourselves I became more comfortable with it. The ''To live is Christ and to die is...'' examples helped me to accept the potential different meanings for the word submissive and essentially: Being submissive doesn't mean losing ourself, it means giving up who we think we should be in order to become what God has planned for us.
