Study

So yesterday on my way home from Reno we stopped in Stockton for gas and I got really excited because I realized we're only like 40 or so days away from Memorial Weekend Retreat!

This past weeks devotion on study was good for me because I think it helped point out to me that when I fill my time with things other than seeking God then too often I'm making "things" the object of my worship. "They may sing with gusto, pray in the Spirit, live as obediently as they know, even receive divine visions, and revelations, and yet the tenor of their lives remains unchanged." This stuck out to me a lot because so much of my life has been like that. But lately I've been learning how awesome life can be when I'm spending time just pouring myself into his word because there is no greater feeling than the one I feel when I'm just filled with him. I love what Stef wrote in her prayer Lord, I pray for a desire to study your life giving, soul refreshing, and mind transforming scripture. I may lose focus from time to time, but when I come back it's amazing how in his word he leads me right back down the path he has laid out for me:)
