Reading about medation continuously reminded me of the staff Culture Point 7. That time spent in meditation is, in a sense, meant to empty myself of myself and result in a filling of God in my body as a vessel.
We spend time in mediation (Kairos vs kronos) to "give God's words the opportunity to penetrate" to then "see ourselves in the light of God's revealed word." To fully surrender my own heart, insecurieties, hang ups, passions, desires, fears, and body to allow my Father to then pour in and fill my empty body with scriptural truths about myself. To fill me with the "I Am" statements and allow that truth to then be lived out in my daily life.
Time spent meditating is time in which I accept the invitation into an intense love affair with my Father who desires a deep relationship with me. ME! Grace, grace, grace poured out saturating my physical body, my thoughts, and my relationships. The beauty of the Creator of the Universe waiting to meet me each morning and celebrate my own existence to fulfill his purpose of reflecting His glory and glorifying His name. What an exciting way to view myself and the surrounding world I am graced into be present!
