Holy Week- Jesus' Suffering

On Tuesday at youth group, we watched a movie about Holy Week that lined up with this passage. Jesus becomes so much more real when you think about him crying out to God, asking Him to give him another way to save His people. The idea of Jesus crying, of him being vulnerable, makes him so much more human. He was given the strength to face certain death and heartbreak for us. He was submissive to God;s plans for him. I find that I often am asking God if there is another way out- if I can learn the same lesson or have the same impact without going through the pain. But, often times the answer is no, and sometimes I do avoid the pain, even though I am missing out on making an impact. I need to learn to constantly do what Jesus did; say "I trust you, Papa. Whatever you say, I will do." I can endure "light and momentary troubles" if Jesus could suffer with the intensity that he did.
