He Has Risen

Hey guys I hope everyone had a great Holy week!

The part that really hit home for me was when I was reading about when Jesus was in the garden and he was talking to God and he was asking if there was any other way to heal our hearts, but he knew there wasn't. I wrote next to this passage I think the burning question that I've been missing for all these years, If Jesus knew that he was going to experience complete separation from God, which he was far from ever deserving, and was going to take the punishment because of sins we've committed and are going to commit, and He was still willing to die for that, then why am I still so stubborn to not daily pick up my own cross? Like hello Sydnie! Every time I want to do things my own way, or I want to justify my sin, I'm telling Jesus that hey I realize you didn't have to do the whole dieing on the cross thing, I realize that must've really really hurt and you had to feel all of God's anger for our sins, and that's totally cool that you did that for me, but I think for today I'm just gonna do things my own way. Ouch. Talk about a rude awakening.

Yesterday I came across a tweet that I love because it said we don't have to worry because Easter isn't ever over.  I loved this because I never thought about Easter that way before. A huge part of Easter is that Jesus is alive! Every day I can celebrate that, because every day Jesus is alive and living in me:)

Have an awesome week guys!

  1. Don't forget to have grace for yourself though! Remember that he also knew you were going to throw the cross back in His face from time to time, and He was willing to die for that too. :]
