God's Still, Small Voice!

I really enjoyed reading this week's Devotional about Prayer because I find it so amazing and special that God wants us to keep in communication with Him! I used to not think prayer was that important and effective because I did not feel that I could hear God's voice telling me exactly what to do. Therefore, I became very stubborn and decided that if I could not hear God, I would not talk with Him unless of course i really needed Him...(Obviously, I was very confused becasue when do we not need God and who says God does not answer every prayer?).
That is why I found this devotional, especially the quote by Andre Louf, very encouraging! It is so beautifully written and really helped me understand that pray is a way in which yes, we can talk with Him, but also a way in which we need to listen to what He says. We need to set aside time alone with God everyday to listen to what He is speaking to us, especially for those like me who have difficulty hearing Him.
I know for me it is difficult to hear God's voice, but when I quiet my soul and listen, I hear Him very clear. God does answer our prayers, it just feels and seems at times that He does not. I think the main problem is because most of people come to God expecting so much to happen and when their prayers are not answered the way they hoped, they give up on prayer. Also sometimes we have other voices in our head including our own voice, telling us what to do, which is why we need to quiet ourselves and spend time listening to God!
Reading God's Wordjas also led me to answers to my prayers. God speaks through prayer, the Bible, and many others ways. He wants to have a relationship with us. Have you ever thought that maybe we are the ones who make prayer so difficult? God answers our prayers all the time and in every place on this earth!
"Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, as our prayers draw us near, to the one who knows our needs before we even call His name!" Let us pray without end and when we finish start again, Like breathing out and breathing in Oh let us pray!:)
