I once gave John 12:23-27 to someone in hopes to encourage them. They sent me a text back saying how they didn't like the verse because it talks about whoever hates his life will keep it forever. They did not like the idea of hating their life, as if that meant they couldn't have fun. I did not know exactly how to combat that so I let it go. Just reading it now in the journal I fully realized what it is saying. In context with the grain of wheat, to die is gain. To die is to have many others sprout up after you. And to die translates in this world to giving up the things of this world and handing our lives up to Jesus and asking Him to guide and lead you however He wants you to be used. WOW THIS ROCKS! =D I'm going to go to that person tomorrow and share this with that person for sure!
Dear Lord,
Make me a servant in my life and this summer on the water and the docks. I want to be all for you and nothing else. Nothing else meaning myself. I serve you. What happens to me is no matter except that I pray it is for your glory. Make me an arrow that points to you in every moment.
Your Servant and Son, Kevin

I think I just found my new favorite verse: Philipians 2:5-11 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death-- Even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
heard this before, now it applies to everything God's been teaching me. AWESOME!!
You are all in my prayers,
-Kev
God Bless!
Dude, Kevin these two verses you've referenced are two of my favorite verses! God is teaching you a lot about living for him and loving others through love, service and sacrifice! I am excited for what He has in store for you as you grow closer to him!
