Hello again everyone!
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this week's devotional! It gave me so much joy :) The devotional on top of thinking about this weekend boosted my mood completely.
One of the many points in this weeks devotional that stuck with me was the point made about childbirth. When Foster was talking about how mothers endure childbirth in order to receive the joy that lies on the other side. How God "transforms" the misery. This along with John 16:22, 33 really reached my heart. When it says "So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world"
If this isn't a huge word of encouragement I don't know what is! We all will come across those difficult times in our lives, but God will help transform them and bring joy. We just need to try hard to remember this. Pain is not escapable, but because of Gods presence, this pain is not forever. The time to rejoice will come. I mean, why not rejoice right now knowing that we have an eternal life with Christ! :)
This leads me to the second verse which stood out and boosted my mood. It was Matthew 22:2, "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son." Like i've said in an earlier blog entry, just thinking about the kingdom of heaven makes me so happy! It's perfect that this verse was included in the devotional! The comparison to a wedding banquet just cries celebration to me :)
YAY I can't wait to see you lovely people this weekend!
Blessings,
Whitney
