The best leaders are the greatest followers...and servants. I remember being asked that question in my interview and didn't realize how important that idea would be for this summer. I was super humbled during the description of our busy lives. "My soul has become a huge warehouse where day after day the trucks unload their crates without any plan or discrimination...until it is crammed from top to bottom with the trite, commonplace, the insignificant, the routine." Sometimes I fall into the trap of letting my busy and overflowing life to take control. Things always go better though when I let God sneak His way into the corners of my life and that's what's so encouraging. This guy loves me so much that He will do anything to get into my life. And because He invites me into slavery, heck yes am I going to take Him up on that offer.
My favorite quote was from Foster "When we choose to be a servant, we surrender the right to decide who and when we will serve. We become available and vulnerable." I am really praying that these words will resonate in me and mold me for the summer.
