Hello to all =)
This week has been great for me! Realizing the truth in repentance and prayer.
I am usually in meditation asking God to humble me and/or to remind me of I AM statements such as child of God and warrior. So I would say that meditation for me is partly to focus my thoughts back to Jesus.
Recently I spent an hour sitting in meditation and prayer in the orange circle (if you don't know what that is it is a place with trees and a fountain in the very middle of old town orange, very beautiful). I was asking that God show me something new or just to have anyone come up and talk to me. He ended up giving me a blessing of children. It took me about a half hour to notice there were children all around me, babies, toddlers, all laughing and carefree. I couldn't help but smile and laugh at them but it was then I realized God was telling me something: I need to have a childs heart and be gullable to His word. I had been muddling in doubts and this is exactly what I needed to hear from God. So now I treasure the "child of God" statement even more. If you ask, God will answer.
"Yet another reason for learning to meditate is so that we may become conversant with the will of God."
This stood out to me as God will sometimes share His will with you if you are seeking it. This is such a blessing. There are many lessons to be learned from God sharing something with you that we do not deserve.
"He makes me lie down in green pastures." I once heard that sheep will only lie down if four things are suitable to them: they must be free from danger. They must have a full stomach. They must be free of pests (bugs). And they must be a certain distance from any other sheep. If without any of these then they will remain standing all day being the sheepish sheep that they are. "HE MAKES ME LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES" =D haaa! how great is that!! God provides what we need so that we may be comfortable enough with all of our idiosyncrasies. There is that but also that it is necessary for us to medidate when we aren't distracted by anything or anyone.
1 Corinthians 15:10 "But BY THE GRACE OF GOD I am what I am, and HIS GRACE TO ME was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them- yet NOT I, BUT THE GRACE OF GOD that was with me." Paul gives the glory to God 3 times here I noticed. He did not want anyone to misunderstand him when he said that he worked hard to be where he was at to get there. By the GRACE OF GOD.
The Lord speaks in a whisper. I love the connection to when Jesus says "it is finished." To those close to Him wrote it down that He whispered this. To those farther away said that he yelled it. He had to have yelled it right? if they were far away. But, I think this is a small message of how God speaks in a whisper but anyone can hear His voice if they are listening.
Thank you so much!

God bless!
Kevin! I loved the post. Specifically I really connected with your sheep story! I feel like I am often a sheep that needs to rest and I just need the Lord to make me lie down. It was a great reminder that the Lord provides all we need, and I can lay down assured that He watches over me!
