First off, I want to start by saying how sorry I am that I have missed the last couple of deviotionals. I just got back from a mission trip to South Africa and have been trying to catch up with everything and trying to process all the amazing things that happened there.
Submission for me is very challenging. I grew up being in control of my life, functioning as a very independent person. I learned to rely only on myself. So when I became a Christian the idea of submitting everything that I am to God scared me. I thought if I could just give up some control, God would be okay with that. But the more I hung on to that control, the more I messed things up. I eventually learned that my life can only follow God's plan if I give up everything to him and let him steer my life. After many mess-ups, that fact finally sunk in and I released all control to God. I completely submitted to His will and have seen my life unfold in ways that I could never imagine or hope for.
