First of all I just want to say thank you for all your posts! It is an amazing way for us all to connect to each other and it is such an encouragement for us as we go about our days. Thank you all for pouring yourself into the Devo and allowing God to grow you the way He desires.
This Holy weekend I had the opportunity to work two night shift nursing shifts (for those of you who do not know, I'm graduating from nursing school in May. I have a few shifts to do for school). I worked the night into Easter morning. It was amazing to think of Christ's sacrifice and defeat of death as I was caring for people that needed the loving truth & healing of Jesus.
As the devotional stated in Christ's words, "My life will break and Gods broken world will mend. My heart will tear apart and your hearts will heal". Although these people were under going physical pain and emotional hardship, I knew there was a God that loved them and sacrificed upon a cross for them, and defeated the separation of sin that kept us far from God. By Gods desire and Christ's obedience & suffering, we now all can be internally and forever healed. Gods sacrifice for our broken world never seemed more evident and needed. It was a special moment for me.
This was Holy week, but it's not just one "holiday" or week in which we remember Christ. It should be a life lived in remembrance of Christ! Holy week, yes; but more profoundly it is a Holy life lived to reflect the truth of Christ!
Love you all! Let us forever live to reflect that wonderful truth and wonderful heart of God!
