Meditation.
"Instead of drinking in His presence, i often substitute mediation on the Lord for activities that i think will refresh me fully: sleep, coffee, friends, no work, nature". That sentence really stuck out to me while reading the devotional. I tend to find myself doing exactly that thinking that will count as me "meditating" and seeking God and trying to hear his word. its crazy that lasts weeks devotional was on mediation cause lately I've been taking a second look on how i take time with Christ besides journaling and reading my bible and all that came to me was this verse.
"Be still and know that I AM God" Ps. 46:10
and for me that verses was really encouraging and kinda made me take a second look on how I meditate and that drinking coffee and being alone isn't real me helping me hear Gods voice. Also another sentence that stuck out to we was " Meditation is the "ability to hear God's voice and obey his word. This act of " Christian mediation leads us to the inner wholeness necessary to give ourselves to God freely". Just reading that alone has just encouraged me to be still and listen to God rather than me talking to God and not sitting in peace ready to listen.
Hope you guys have a good rest of the week! and stop and listen to God
In His name,

Thanks for the post, Rachel! I love that scripture as well! It reminds me of the power of God & His ability to speak to me in meditation. Even through the distractions of my mind & heart the Lord can speak. This encourages me as I can also feel like I only get in the way of God speaking to me. Thanks for the reminder & encouragement.
