Prayer

Hi friends!! Sorry I'm a little behind and that it's taken longer for me to respond! Crazy week but the devotional is rocking my world and hearing everyone thoughts has been SO encouraging and SO awesome to see how God revealed Himself to each of you. After reading this, I definitely realized how much I take for prayer for granted and how much I don't realize the priviledge that the Lord has blessed us with by giving us the ability to be in constant conversation with Him. Prayer is something I try to do multiple times throughout the day but I don't think I realized the significance of how apart from Christ we can do NOTHING, nothinggg! I so often get caught up in doing things my way and thinking I have everything under control through my strength and capabilities but I can only do all these things with Christ, it is NOT because of anything I've done. The Lord doesn't need us to pray to Him but we desperately need to be constantly praying to Him so we can be filled by His love and remember His never-ending grace that allows us to live freely. We need to be in constant communication so, as it says at the end, we can see and understand God's revelation of steadfast love and endless mercies. Prayer will give us the nourishment and fulfillment we need to go out and be lights for Jesus. We can't do anything without Him. All we need is Jesus. Dang... God is SO awesome! He is so good and faithful and I just pray that we each seek Him out today and be filled by His neverending love by being in constant prayer with our Savior.

  1. Allie! I totally identified with your post. Thanks for the reminder that "we can do Nothing apart from Christ". I needed that reminder today. I too can get so caught up on doing things with my own strength and often forget I have a friend and support in Jesus. I was also encouraged that we can do nothing apart from Him, but also that he DESIRES to be apart of our everything! So why not embrace Him in our lives and live off of everything He so freely gives? Cause honestly we can do nothing without his love & grace! Thanks for the post!

  2. Allie, I like your emphasis of "nothing" with "nothingggg!" It makes your voice come out with the post. "Dang...God is so awesome!" sounds very "voicey" too. I mention this because sometimes when I ponder prayer and why God set up the whole thing I land on saying to myself, "Why does God want me to pray? Maybe, he simply likes the sound of my voice."

If this was a post I'd title it, "THE VOICE" :).

    Thanks for your post.
